Wieslaw Szamborski studied at the Main School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw from 1959 to 1960. From 1960, he studied at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studios of Antoni Łyżwański and Michał Bylina. He chose to specialize in mural painting under Witold Miller and Stefan Gierowski, and in printmaking under Andrzej Rudzinski and Jozef Pakulski. He received his diploma with honors in the studio of Michał Bylina in 1966. Since 1968, he has been a researcher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since 1996, he has been a full professor. In the 1980s, he participated in the Independent Culture Movement. In the first years after his studies, until 1974, he exhibited jointly with Mark Sapetto. His works are in the collections of national museums in Bydgoszcz, Cracow, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw. In addition, in private collections in Poland and abroad.
