Studied in Cracow at the Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Painting. His professors were Eugeniusz
Eibisch, Jerzy Fedkowicz and Wacław Taranczewski. He defended his diploma in 1953. In the years
1965-67 he was a member of the Arkat Group. The artist's figural compositions are energetic, built
vividly pulsating color, depicting scenes in cafes, banquets, concerts,
fashion shows or artists' ateliers. The protagonists of these representations are groups of distinguished
dressed figures. In addition to these colorful scenes, the artist has already painted in subdued colors
scenes from the mines. In 2008 he was awarded the Gloria Artis Silver Medal. The artist's paintings are
in the collections of Polish museums, including: the Silesian Museum in Katowice, Warsaw's
Zachęta, as well as in many private collections, both Polish and foreign.
