Graduated from the Kiev Art Institute. Member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Belarus. Wladyslaw Kufko's work is a journey to the imaginative, painterly world. As he himself points out: art is a touch of eternity[...] The artist's recent paintings are full of unearthly figures. The painter-traveler is attracted to many things at once. He paints microorganisms of unknown forms and shapes, perhaps cosmic vermin, discovered by opening these niches in the walls. And at the same time, this scratch can be in the shape of Charon's boat and also be a simple wall graffiti, scratched into the plaster. In another painting, the life-filled niche-crack has wings painted on it and transforms into a bird. Kufko keeps mixing up the tropes and keeps multiplying the meanings and senses of the images he paints. This complexity is one of the painter's favorite procedures, which makes us think of it as a kind of hallmark of his style.
