Wladyslaw Stapinski (1897-1943) is a member of the Cracow Association of Artists "Zwornik", a student of Stanislaw Kamocki, active between the wars in Cracow, Warsaw, Lviv and Poznan. Participated in many exhibitions, both individual and group, in the most important galleries and salons of the country. His characteristic landscapes painted in a post-impressionist manner, often with mountain themes (he lived in Poronin), were very popular. The landscape from Venice with a view from under the church of Santa Maria della Salute to the city and the Canale Grande, full of sunshine and blue skies, comes from the early period of his work and is a reminiscence from the artist's trip to Italy.
