Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: XF
Reference: Kopicki 36 (R4); Stronczyński 37-

The first Polish coin with a coin value designation - DENARIVS (denarius).
Because of its uniqueness, it is the hero of many articles.
Tadeusz Kalkowski wrote that it is "a kind of revelation".
Kazimierz Stronczynski wrote that it is"exceptional money, the minting of which soon had to be abandoned".

The undescribed DVCIS BOLEZLA variety in the obverse legend, on the reverse a cross with rosettes and balls and the DENARIVS legend.

A beautiful piece, importantly exceptionally well struck with the legend legible throughout.
Preserved original stamp texture, charming age-old patina.
Definitely recommended, very rare in this state of preservation.

obverse: in the rim a prince in majesty, holding a sword and a hand in a gesture of greeting, in the outer rim legend +.DV.CIS BO.L.EZLA
reverse: in the rim a cross, between its arms rosettes and balls, in the outer rim legend
+DENARIVS
