Grade: VF/VF-
Estimations: 119 - 238 EUR
Reference: Krzyżaniwskij 60 R5, Kopicki 3048 R5
On the obverse the letter W in an ornamental cartouche, on the reverse a crown in an ornamental cartouche. Ruthenian coins were the first Polish copper coins minted by Casimir the Great, Władysław Opolczyk and Ludwik Andegawenski, and until 1650 they remained the only money minted in copper in the Polish lands. Minted with care, in a non-precious metal and having a low circulation value, the pieces preserved to this day are usually in poor condition and obtaining a well-preserved piece is difficult.
Piece from the famous Herstal collection sold in 1974.
