Sigismund I the Old, Groschen 1539, Danzig

A very nice piece in a charming patina.

Variety with the ending of the legend PRVSS.

Obverse: in the pearl rim crowned coat of arms of Gdansk, in the outer rim the legend started with the mint mark hooks:
GROSSVS-CIVI-GEDANEN-1538;

Reverse: in the pearl rim a royal bust in armor and crown, to the right, in the outer rim a legend started with a star:
SIGIS-I-REX-POLO-DO-TO-PRVSS;
