Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: ~VF
Reference: Romańczyk GT1529_42 (R*), Kopicki 3083 (R)

Fully readable pieces.

Variety with PRVSS/PRVSS legend endings.

Very rare 1529 Torun penny with pierced obverse legend.

A very rare 1529 Torun penny with a punctuation of the obverse legend. There is an E under the letter O in TOCI, as most likely the punching wanted to strike TERR instead of TOCI.

Grzegorz Romanczyk stated that this is the second coin with such a punch he has seen and in his upcoming tali book the variant is numbered GT1529_42 with a rarity of R* (known 1 to 3 pieces).

Obverse: in the pearl rim the eagle of Royal Prussia, in the outer rim the legend started with a five-petal rosette:
GROSS*COMV*TERR*PRVSS*1529;

Reverse: in the pearl rim a royal bust wearing a crown and plate armor, to the right, in the outer rim a legend:
*SIGIS*AND*REX*AFTER*TO*TOCI*PRVSS;
