Oil on beveled board, hardwood, size 23.5 x 16.5 cm. On the back of the board preserved wax seal with the "Serpent" coat of arms, ca. mid-17th century.
Small vernacular portrait depicting an elderly man with a long gray beard and gray hair pulled back. He is dressed in a shuba with a voluminous fur collar, a fine-buttoned żupan is visible on his chest. The portrait undoubtedly refers to Sarmatian portraits. The "Serpent" coat of arms ties it to the territory of Poland, whether by the person of the portrayed or by the holder of the conterfeit, who is sealed with this coat of arms.
