Exquisite work by Bronislawa Rychter Janowska depicting the Polish Manor in Autumn. A painting with fantastic provenance, directly from the family of Count Antoni Paweł Łosi, Herbu Dąbrowa. Along with the work are attached scans of photos from the family album showing the presented work when it hangs on the wall of the house.
Bronislawa Rychter-Janowska (1868 - 1953 Kraków) - Polish painter associated with the Kraków creative community, associated mainly with light yet nostalgic depictions of landed manors. She completed her painting studies in Munich, Florence and Rome. In 1932, she had an exhibition at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art. In search of inspiration, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and beyond. Rychter-Janowska's paintings are distinguished by moodiness and warmth achieved through her masterful handling of color, light and shadow. As early as the 1920s, critic Artur Schroeder described her as a "painter of vanishing mansions," constituting the most recognizable theme of her work even today. Rychter-Janowska's works, evoke nostalgia and are a kind of time capsule. Through the artist's works, we can move into a world that formally no longer exists, but is still present in the preserved images and our feelings.
