Eligiusz Niewiadomski wrote of Bruno Lechowski that he had an astonishing painterly imagination and gift for composition, an extraordinary sense of line and style, and an extraordinary (though uneven) sensitivity to color.... In his canvases, knights, animals, trees, fauns, monks, fantasy birds, clouds, angels, etc. are only a pretext for weaving a mosaic of color patches, vivid, bold, sometimes deliciously harmonized (quoted by I. Ball, Bruno Lechowski, in Słownik artystów polskich i obcych w Polsce działających: malarze, rzeźbiarze, graficy, T. 5: Le-M, ed. J. Derwojed, Warsaw 1993, p. 15).
The works of the artist, who went on a trip around the world in 1925, settled in Brazil and never returned to Poland, are a rarity on the art market.
Bruno Lechowski (Warsaw 1887 - Rio de Janeiro 1941)
