Kazimierz Pulaski is an intriguing artist whose works are almost completely absent from the art market. He was the cousin of Wojciech Kossak and spent part of his childhood with the Kossaks in Krakow. In 1895 Wojciech Kossak engaged him in Berlin to help with a panorama of Berezina. The Harvest painting was created the same year, possibly during a vacation. Pulaski later supported Wojciech Kossak in painting more panoramas and smaller compositions.
