Biography
Painter, graphic artist, publicist and art critic, author of the book 'Wędrówki malarza'. He belonged to art groups - Formists, Zwornik, Cercle des Artistes Polonais and London Group. In 1908-10 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studio of W. Weiss. He continued his studies in Munich. He later stayed in Paris, where he participated in the salons there. After World War I, which he survived in the country, he joined the Formists, with whom he exhibited in 1920-22. In 1922 he left the country again, going to Italy and England. In 1939 he settled permanently in England. In the early days of his work, he experimented, looking for new solutions; over time, color became for him the main building block of a painting, which he considered to be properly constructed when colors were combined and contrasted in such a way as to produce an effect closest to the artist's original feeling towards nature. He painted still lifes, landscapes, nudes and portraits.
