Henryk Weyssenhoff (1859 Pokrewno - 1922 Warsaw) - Polish painter, known for his atmospheric realistic landscapes. He was raised in a Polish family that found itself in the Urals after the January Uprising, following Weyssenhoff's father who was sentenced to 20 years in exile to Kungura. After the amnesty, the Weyssenhoff family moved to Warsaw, allowing Henryk to take lessons at Wojciech Gerson's Drawing Class. He studied in Munich and St. Petersburg. The lyrical mood of Weyssenhoff's paintings appealed to the public and critics of the time, as a result winning numerous medals at exhibitions. Weyssenhoff's works capture regions close to the artist, the picturesque landscapes of present-day Lithuania and Belarus. After the outbreak of World War I, he left his estate in Belarus and moved again to Warsaw, where he joined the Pro Arte art group.
