Austrian painter associated with the Viennese art community. He was educated at the Vienna academy. He traveled extensively in Europe, visited Norway, Holland, Germany and was often in Italy. These travels became the inspiration for his landscape paintings. Since 1900 he resided permanently in Vienna. He signed his works very often using numerous pseudonyms, including J. Rollin.
