Kasper Żelechowski (Klecza Dolna pov. Wadowice 1863 - Krakow 1942) - painter, poet, diarist, photographer - began his artistic studies as a student of Jan Matejko at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow (years 1879-1888 and 1893-1894). In addition, he studied under Karl Raupp at the Academy in Munich (from 1889). He lived permanently in Cracow, where he temporarily ran a photography business at 14 Podwale Street, specializing mainly in portrait photography. He was associated with the community of artists and writers centered around the "Zielony Balonik" cabaret. During World War I he served in the Legions. He painted portraits, landscapes, genre scenes with motifs drawn from the life and folklore of villages near Krakow. He also painted paintings inspired by folk tales and legends (Wrong Fires). He also created paintings of legionary themes and was involved in illustration. He was one of the painters-co-authors of Panorama of the Tatra Mountains (1894-1896) He participated in numerous exhibitions, including those in Krakow, Warsaw and Lublin. He also showed his works at exhibitions devoted to the art of the Legions. In 1937 the artist was awarded the Order of Rebirth of Poland.
