From 1913 to 1920 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under T. Axentowicz and L. Wyczółkowski. In 1920 he lived in Cracow, where he established contact with Jewish painters. He spent the 1930s in Nowy Targ. During the occupation he was deported deep into the USSR. He painted portraits and portrait groups. The heroes of his paintings were usually people from the Jewish and Gypsy circles. He used oil technique.
