Studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts - from 1925 - under T. Pruszkowski (painting), W. Skoczylas (graphic design) and W. Jastrzębowski (applied art). Due to a lung disease, he left in 1928 for Zakopane, where he settled permanently; in the same year he made his debut at Warsaw's TZSP. He belonged to the Block of Professional Artists in Zakopane and the TZSP. During the interwar period, there were many solo exhibitions by the artist, including in Zakopane, Lublin, Warsaw and Grodno. Much of the artist's oeuvre was lost or destroyed during World War II. The dominant theme in his art was landscapes - most often Tatra landscapes, extremely atmospheric, painted with harmonious lines and characterized by decorative stylization.
