An outstanding representative of the École de Paris. Initially educated at the Drawing and Painting School for Women of M. Kotarbiński in Warsaw.
In 1901 she went to Paris, where she settled permanently. She briefly attended the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere and the Académie Colarossi, but considered herself self-taught. From 1902, she actively participated in the artistic life of Paris, exhibiting regularly at Salons and galleries. She was friends with many prominent figures in the Parisian world of art and culture, maintained lively contacts with the Polish community, and participated in national exhibitions.
She was a member of the Polish Artists' Union in Paris. She traveled to Spain and Switzerland. During World War II, she hid in the south of France, including Avignon. After 1945, she returned to Paris. Around 1900, she painted symbolist, atmospheric landscapes, portraits, and figural scenes, and after 1902 she painted seascapes and rural landscapes of Brittany, influenced by the syntheticism of the Pont-Avent School. In works before World War I, the inspiration of Cezanne's Cubism is evident. Her own post-impressionist style was characterized by a tendency to monumentalization, expressive contours,
rich color palette and varied textures.
The landscapes on display are probably a motif from the Paris and Montmarte area.
