The scene depicts the Madonna and Child seated on a throne, with St. Joseph visible to their right, St. Justin of Padua, St. Francis of Assisi, St. John the Baptist as a child and St. Jerome below. The author of the painting referred to the work of the famous mannerist Paolo Veronese, who made the painting for the Church of St. Zacharias in Venice around 1560.
