Biography
Stanislaw Bohusz Siestrzencewicz was educated at the Vilnius City Drawing School, later at the St. Petersburg academy under Bogdan Willewald, in Paris at the Académie Julian and in Munich under Jozef Brandt. In 1919, he taught painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Stefan Batory University. He exhibited primarily at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, the Krywult Salon and in Vilnius. His favorite subjects were views and genre scenes set in borderland towns with their colorful fairs, horse markets, small-town and colorful human types. He also painted hunting scenes and paintings inspired by Far Eastern art. The artist was also an excellent draftsman and illustrator for magazines and books.
