Stanislaw CZAJKOWSKI
1878-1954
Painter - landscape painter. From 1896-1902 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with Jacek Malczewski, Leon Wyczółkowski and Jozef Mehoffer. In addition, Stanislaw's artistic development was supervised by his older brother, Jozef Czajkowski, a painter, architect, interior designer and professor at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. The artist continued his education at the Munich academy under L. Herterich (1898) and at the Académie Julian in Paris, where he attended the atelier of J. P. Laurens and B. Constant (1904-1906). After returning to Krakow, he supplemented his studies at his alma mater by training in the studio of Jan Stanislawski. In 1950 he was appointed professor of painting and drawing at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In 1949 Czajkowski was honored with the Order of Rebirth of Poland.
