Stanislaw Straszkiewicz (1870 - 1925) - landscape painter; studied at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow under Józef Unierzyski in 1901-1903 and under Józef Mehoffer and Jan Stanislawski in 1903. His early work was formed in the circle of the "Stanislavski school", with time he painted in the spirit and style of late paintings by Jozef Chelmonski. Most often, these were atmospheric landscapes - lakes or broad steppe and countryside landscapes - draped in a pinkish haze and bathed in the gentle sunlight of morning or dusk. He showed his works in Warsaw exhibitions at TZSP, in the salon of A. Krywult (1905), F. Rychling (1919), S. Jasielski (1920). He also exhibited with the groups "Odłam" (1908-1910) and "Pro Arte" (from 1922).
