Painter, pupil of Gerson (1880-1881) and of the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts (1881-1889) in the atelier of Loeffler, Matejko and Łuszczkiewicz. He supplemented his studies at the Munich academy. In 1892 he returned to Poland and settled in Swoszowice near Krakow. In 1896-1916 he taught painting at the Baraniecki Higher Courses for Women. The subject matter of his works usually included scenes related to the folklore of a village near Krakow, painted with spontaneity and humor, allegorical compositions and portraits.
