Biography
In 1866-7 he studied at the Drawing Class in Warsaw and at the Academy in Dresden. He continued his studies in 1869-73 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Hermann Anschütz, Alexander von Wagner and Karl Theodor von Pilota. In 1879 he settled in Munich, where he taught at the Academy there. He exhibited in Berlin, Dresden, Vienna and TZSP in Warsaw, among other places. He was friends with Władysław Szerner. He remained under the influence of Munich academism. He created figural compositions with boudoir and salon themes. He painted genre and historical scenes, landscapes, portraits, still lifes, flowers and Shakespearean paintings.
