One of the photographs from the "Polish Individuals" portfolio. Created between 1972 and 1995, the series of 44 photographic images depicted personalities of Polish culture as subjectively selected by Krzysztof Gierałtowski.
The portrait of Tadeusz Kantor (1915-1990) was taken in the artist's apartment just before he left with the Cricot 2 Theater troupe for Florence, where they were beginning work on the second masterpiece of the Theatre of Death after "The Dead Class" - the performance "Wielopole, Wielopole" (premiere 1980).
Condition: a few small creases, scratches and spots on the surface.
Gierałtowski Krzysztof, born 1938 in Warsaw Polish photographer member of the Union of Polish Art Photographers and the ZAiKS Authors Association. Author of portraits of people of Polish culture, science and politics, creator of a collection of more than 80 thousand negatives "Poles, contemporary portraits".
