Nobuyoshi Araki (born May 25, 1940 in Tokyo) is a Japanese photographer and contemporary artist.
He studied photography and then worked at the Dentsu Inc. advertising agency, where he met his future wife, Yōko Araki. After their marriage, he published a book containing a series of photographs taken during their honeymoon, entitled Sentimental Journey. His wife died in 1990, and the photos taken during her last days were published in a book titled Winter Journey.
Araki, who has published more than 350 books, is considered one of the most prolific artists in Japan and around the world. Many of his works are erotic photographs, some are even said to be pornographic.
One of the admirers of the artist's work is Björk, who was also his model. At her request, Araki took photographs for the cover of her Telegram album.
The artist's life and work were featured in a 2005 documentary by Travis Klose titled Arakimentari
