Biography
Studied in Vienna and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under the direction of J. Mehoffer. In the interwar period, he painted paintings dedicated to the memory of the tragedy of World War I. His work was dominated by religious themes. He also engaged in realistic portrait painting, sometimes referring to Pre-Raphaelite painting. After the war he was associated with the Zachęta grouping. He created landscapes and devoted numerous works to the depiction of colorful gardens. He also worked in watercolor, pastel and color woodcut. He created stage designs, wrote dramas and engaged in art criticism.
