The drawings are original illustrations for the weekly magazine Today and Tomorrow.
Today and Tomorrow, a Catholic social weekly, was a magazine published in Poland from November 25, 1945 to the mid-1950s by a group of Catholics accepted by the communist authorities.
The initiator of the idea was Boleslaw Piasecki, who obtained the approval of Wladyslaw Gomulka to launch the magazine and create around it an environment of people wishing to co-create the new Polish reality. On August 17, 1945, Piasecki received official permission from the communist authorities to publish the weekly Today and Tomorrow. Donations for the newspaper were made by Jerzy Hagmajer ($3,000), Boleslaw Piasecki ($1,000) and Primate August Hlond ($500). Knowing that the funds raised would be enough for only a few months, B. Piasecki set about building an economic base. On the basis of the "Inco" and "Veritas" companies, he created the multi-industry enterprise ZZG. Many former officers and soldiers of the Home Army found employment in ZZG.
