Mechanical forms are constant elements in his works, such as in his designs for the Swedish Ballet (1921-1922), frescoes (such as the polychrome of the Brussels stadium, 1935), and in the abstract film Ballet mécanique 1924 with music by George Antheil. His pupil, assistant from 1948, and wife from 1952 was Nadia Léger (1904-1982, formerly under the name Wanda Chodasiewicz-Grabowska.
