Graphic comes from the Teka of woodcuts published by the Provincial Office in Cracow on the occasion of July 22 in 1949. 300 copies were printed.
Krażowska-Knotowa Helena (1911 Moscow -1992 Cracow) graphic artist and painter, graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (ASP). She was a member of the Group of 9 graphic artists, active in 1947-1960.
In the People's Republic of Poland, July 22, or Polish Renaissance Day, was a day off from work, a major holiday with numerous propaganda academies and big events celebrating the PZPR, the socialist system and its great achievements. A great example of socialist realism in art.
