Jan Kanty Gumowski - painter, graphic artist and illustrator. He practiced oil painting, watercolor technique, pencil, pen and pastel sketches and created lithographs. The best known part of his work are his lithographic portfolios on architectural subjects. In addition, he painted landscapes, portraits and genre scenes with military themes. Less known, though very extensive, is Jan Gumowski's work in drawing reconstructions of historical monuments of Polish architecture: cities, fortresses, castles.
