Janusz Orbitowski was associated with the Kraków art community,
Where he studied in the studio of Adam Marczyński. As a didactician, he conducted
classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow since 1970. He dealt
geometric abstraction by building his three-dimensional compositions
from chopped lines and rectangles often in neutral colors. This procedure was intended to
draw the viewer's attention to the key elements of Orbitowski's work
which were the exploration of space, the play of light and shadow, movement and their mutual
relationship. Among other reasons, the artist's works are also counted among the current of
op-art.
