Janusz Skowron - painter, illustrator, organizer of artistic life. Born in 1958 in Kolbuszowa. Since 1989 he has lived in New York, USA. In Poland, he studied at the Institute of Artistic Education of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, where in 1983 he received a diploma in the lithography studio of Prof. Danuta Kolwzan- Nowicka. Among others, he is a co-founder of Lublin's "KONT Gallery" (1978), New York's Shtooka Gallery (2006) and founder of A.R Gallery (2013). From 2007 to 2017, organized exhibitions at the Starbucks art cafe (125 shows). In 2008, co-organizer and participant in the international exhibition "Entropy of Art". In the USA, he is a member of the international multimedia art group EMOTIONALISM (since 1999), an artist of New York's New Century Gallery, Institute- PIASA and a member of the Board of Directors of the Pilsudski Institute. He has participated in more than two hundred solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad (Poland, USA, France, Germany, Denmark, Hungary, China, South Korea). In the United States, he has repeatedly been commissioner of exhibitions and promoter of Polish art. He works in painting, printmaking, drawing and photography.
