The series "Chopin to Duda-Gracz" was created in 1999-2003, the artist visited 92 localities in search of landscapes closest, in his opinion, to Chopin's music. In creating this extraordinary, monumental series, he studied correspondence, manuscripts and literature dedicated to the composer and listened to works performed by Janusz Olejniczak. The result was 313 works devoted to all Chopin's compositions.
"I have always been inspired exclusively by Poland. I am incurably sick of Poland. The Chopin series are not illustrations, but inspirations. To attempt to translate sounds into color is also to pay tribute to the beloved composer."
(Jerzy Duda Gracz)
