Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, graduating in 1952 in the studio of Prof. Xawery Dunikowski. Since his debut at the exhibition of fine arts of the Cracow district of the Association of Polish Artists in September 1952, he actively participated in artistic life, took part in several hundred exhibitions of Polish art at home and abroad, in most countries of Europe, Asia and America. He also participated in many competitions for the design of sculptures and monuments. He belonged to art groups: MARG (short for painters, architects, sculptors, graphic artists), Art International. In 1952-83 he was a member of the Union of Polish Artists, between 1970 and 1980 of the New Improvisation group (participants were musicians, actors, visual artists), and from 1983 he belonged to the Union of Sculptors. In 1952-89, he served as an expert for the Ministry of Culture and Art on sculpture. From 1961-71, he was an assistant, then an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology; from 1965-69, he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Industrial Forms at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow; from 1971-86, he was an associate professor at the Faculty of Interior Design, and from 1986, he was a professor at his alma mater.
