Juliusz Fortunat Kossak coat of arms Kos (born October 29, 1824 in Nowy Wisnicz, died February 3, 1899 in Cracow) - Polish painter, illustrator and draftsman. He specialized in historical and battle paintings, horses were a favorite subject of his paintings. He painted small-format works mainly in watercolor technique. He was one of the initiators of the establishment of the National Museum in Cracow. Father of Wojciech Kossak.
