The works of Kiryl Zdanevich - a Georgian artist of Polish descent - are in the collections of MOMA, among others. Together with his brother Ilya - he played an important role and made significant contributions to the Georgian, Russian and international history of the avant-garde movement in the first decade of the 20th century. Both were initially influenced by Futurism, but later succumbed to the influence of Cubofuturism. Their artistic concept was called "orchestral painting." There is another piece of Cubofuturist Composition listed on the market - it was sold at the FAAP auction in Paris in 2018. The offered lithograph also came from Paris. Hence it can be presumed that this edition was created there.

The brothers were the sons of Mikhail Zdanievich, a Pole and graduate of the Sorbonne, and Georgian Valentina Gamkrelidze, a pianist and pupil of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Kirill graduated in Tbilisi from the painting and drawing courses of N. Sklifosovsky, after which he went to Moscow and then to St. Petersburg. There he began studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, but did not complete them. In Paris, he studied in the studio of Alexander Archipenko. He was active in Tbilisi, Moscow, Constantinople and Paris. Together with his brother Ilya, he played an important role and made significant contributions to the Georgian, Russian and international history of the avant-garde movement in the first decade of the 20th century. They belonged to the circle of Mikhail Larionov and Natalia Goncharova. They were members of the "Donkey Tail" group, their artistic concept was called "orchestral painting." In 1913 they discovered Georgian primitivist painter Nik Pirosmanashvili. In 1949 Zdanievich was arrested and exiled to Vorkuta. In 1957 he was released and rehabilitated. In 1963 he was awarded the title of Distinguished Artist of the Georgian SSR, and a little earlier he was accepted as a member of the Georgian Artists' Union. He is buried in the Pantheon of Public Persons of Georgia in Tbilisi.
