Leonor Fini (1907-1996) was born in Buenos Aires, but grew up in the Italian city of Trieste. From an early age she felt the pull of Paris, where she lived most of her life. The surrealist artist was inspired by Salvador Dali, Max Ernst and Giorgio de Chirico, with whom she also became friends. Because of her important works, she is represented in many museum collections, such as the Tate Modern, Fine Arts Museum Brussels and the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York.
