Lucjan Mianowski was born on February 2, 1933 in Strzemieszyce. In 1950, he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, initially in the poster studio of Prof. Maciej Makarewicz, then in the lithography studio of Prof. Konrad Srzednicki. 1956 he received his diploma with honors. For the next two years he studied painting in the studio of Prof. Czeslaw Rzepinski. In 1959, he received a French Government Scholarship to study in Paris at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in the lithography studio of Prof. Pierre Clairin, where he studied in 1959/60 and 1963/64.
In the 1964/65 academic year, he was appointed as a lecturer in lithography at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań. He passed away in 2009.
His works are in the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, Cracow, Bydgoszcz, among others.
