ANDRZEJ PĄGOWSKI Born 1953 Graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań, Faculty of Poster,
Diploma under Prof. Waldemar Swierzy. Author of more than 1500 posters published in print since
1977 in Poland and abroad. In addition, he is involved in book and press illustration, is the
author of album covers, theatrical and television stage designs, screenplays
films and music videos. In 1989 he began working in advertising, without stopping his
individual graphic creativity, he is the creative director and owner of the company
Kreacja Pro. For several years he has been painting in the technique of prints on canvas. At the same time
creates portraits on commission. Andrzej Pągowski has presented his works at numerous
individual exhibitions at home and abroad. He is the recipient of dozens of awards
Polish and foreign, among which it is worth mentioning a dozen of the highest trophies at the
International Competition for the Best Film and Television Posters (including 6 Gold
Medals and the title of The Best of Show) in Los Angeles, and several top prizes at the
International Film Poster Competition in Chicago. His works are in
many private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art
in New York and San Francisco, at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The Metropolitan Museum of
Modern Art has included the "Smile of the Wolf" poster among the 100 most important works of art
modern art in MoMA's collection.
