Stanislaw Ostoja-Chrostowski (14.12.1897 Warsaw - 19.11.1947 Warsaw) prominent Polish graphic artist. From 1917 to 1923 he studied painting and architecture in Moscow, then from 1923 to 1930 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw, among others with W. Skoczylas, he received his diploma with a specialty in graphic design in 1934. He began working as early as 1924, quickly gained a high position and numerous domestic and foreign awards, was a member of the Rytu and the Circle of Advertising Graphic Artists, in 1937 he took over the Chair of Artistic Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, then its professor, and in 1945 its rector. He practiced fine art printmaking, mainly woodcuts.
