Painter, graphic artist, educator. Since 1922 he has been associated with the artistic
milieu of Vilnius. In the 1930s he studied at the Faculty of Arts
of the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius. In 1945 he settled in
Gdynia, co-founder of the Association of Polish Artists. Until 1948
continued his studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. In the period
1945-1972, he was a teacher at the State High School of Visual Arts in Gdynia-Orlovo,
from 1950 director of the Visual Arts Centre in Gdynia. He primarily practiced
woodcut and copperplate technique. In addition to portraits and landscapes of Vilnius, the subject
of his work were port scenes, documentation of the shipbuilding industry, scenes
from the daily work of fishermen.
