Lot description Show orginal version

original lang woodcut, paper, card size 35x25 cm
The graphic comes from the Teka of woodcuts issued by the Provincial Office in Cracow on the occasion of July 22, 1949.

Stefania Dretler-Flin (b. 1909, d. 1994) - Polish visual artist. She specialized in printmaking (linocut and woodcut) and after 1960 in ceramics and figural sculpture. After studying art in Cracow, she trained at the Académie Colarossi in Paris. She made her debut in 1933 and was a member of the Group of Nine Graphic Artists. During the war she stayed in Lviv and Warsaw. She participated in the Warsaw Uprising.

In the People's Republic of Poland, July 22, or Polish Renaissance Day, was a day off from work, a big holiday with numerous propaganda academies and big events celebrating the Polish United Workers' Party, the socialist system and its great achievements. A great example of socialist realism in art.
Work in very good condition.
