Thomas Bayrle - German painter, printmaker and video artist. Between 1956-1958 he trained as a weaver. Between 1958-1961, Bayrle studied at the Offenbach School of Art. In 1961, he founded Gulliver-Presse with Bernhard Jäger, and became known as a printer and publisher of art books. In 1964 he participated in Documenta III in 1977 and Documenta VI in Kassel. From 1972 to 2002 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts - Städel School in Frankfurt am Main. In 1995, he held a guest professorship at Tohoku University in Japan. In recent years, his work has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions in Düsseldorf, Montreal, Cologne, Graz, Frankfurt, Vienna, Venice, Auckland, Berlin, Duisburg, Geneva, Karlsruhe, New York, Zurich and Austin / Texas.
