Witold Chomicz (1910-1984) painter, printmaker; from 1927-1931 at the School of Decorative Arts and Artistic Industry in Cracow under Henryk Uziembła and from 1932 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Karol Tiche, Leonard Pękalski, Władysław Skoczylas and Edmund Bartłomiejczyk. He practiced easel painting, mainly in oils, and printmaking, primarily in books. The artist is known for his woodcuts, in which he depicted works of Polish architecture, religious and folk themes, legends and Slavic myths.
