From the author's introduction: "It was dark, it was ugly, it was bad. (....) Shapes. Fascinating. Such a vegetable store in a pavilion. And the pavilion? A real Hades. Dark, crowded, smells rotten. (...) Or the wife of the director of some unification. Plump and paraded. She drove out of the garage every day in a large Fiat. (...) I felt-even as a little one-that this life is not easy. I saw tired people around me. (...) "
