Biography
Krzysztof M. Bednarski - sculptor, born in 1953 in Cracow, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1973-1978, in the studios of Prof. Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz and Prof. Oskar Hansen), active in various creative disciplines, once closely associated with the paratheatrical explorations of Jerzy Grotowski, for whom he designed posters (1976 - 81). Since 1986 he has lived in Rome; he is also intensely present on the Polish art scene. In his early works he referred to communist propaganda (Total Portrait of Karl Marx, 1978), and the socio-political situation of Poland under martial law (Victoria-Victoria,1983, in the collection of the National Museum in Cracow). His best-known realization is the sculptural installation Moby Dick (1987), which is in the collection of the Museum of Art - ms2 in Lodz. This work is a kind of icon of sculptural art of the last decades of the 20th century in Poland. The works of Krzysztof M.
