On a circular base surrounded by a wreath, a pair of young women in airy dresses, captured in a spontaneous and joyful whirling dance movement. In the original, one of the young women held a garland - a garland - in her outstretched hand.
Peter Pöppelmann was a German sculptor working not only in bronze, but also in wood and stone. Initially he was involved in the restoration of sacred architecture and its furnishings. From around 1892, he collaborated with Dresden sculptor Bernhard Kurt Roth. Peter Pöppelmann was a professor at the Academy of Art in Dresden.
The offered sculpture was first presented in 1900 at the Great Art Exhibition in Berlin, where the National Gallery purchased the bronze. Another piece of the sculpture is in the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig.
