Trained as a psychologist and linguist (Oklahoma State University, 1997, University of Washington, 1994), she is a ceramicist and sculptor by choice. In 1993-94 she studied drawing and painting at Seattle State College and the University of Washington. She took up sculpture in late 2020, after practicing art ceramics for 11 years. In the summer of 2021, she completed an intensive sculpture course at the Florence Academy of Art. In 2021/2022, she studied sculpture in the studio of Prof. Adam Myjak at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 2022-2023, she completed a portrait sculpture course in residency at the Geode Art Studios sculpture center, in Catalonia, Spain, and figurative sculpture at the Barcelona Academy of Art.
